Gimmee!

Jack is crawling very well now, mostly to grab stuff we don't want him to touch. This picture is of him as he is crawling towards me to grab the camera. The very next second his little hand is up and reaching for it. He is pretty sneaky sometimes, standing on his tippy-toes or crawling over or on you to get at what he wants.

Bye-Bye Car Payment

With the sale of the Corvette, we were able to pay off Kevin's truck. Here he is burning our payment coupon book from the bank. Now we can spend that money on more important things, like daycare!

I'm Standing Up

Jack's favorite thing to do these days is to stand up. I can see he is getting stronger and learning everyday because he keeps changing how he stands up. He gets closer to things now before he tries, he knows to step forward at a certain point to balance himself, and he knows he still has to hold onto something. Every once in awhile he lets go and enjoys a second or two of standing by himself before gravity brings him down.

New Playroom

We decided to turn our back porch into a playroom for Jack. We added the foam mat floor to help protect him when he tumbles. Add to that a little table given to us by friends and the room starts to look like a fun place to hang out. He has a few toys out there now and that will increase as the weather cools down this Fall. Jack has learned how to crawl in and out of the room with the help of some towel cushions. He has also started to crawl to the french doors and pat his hand on the door if he wants to go out there.

4th of July

The 4th of July had many surprises: an incredibly short parade, exceptionally good company, a delicious lunch and a very mobile baby who kept everyone on their toes. There were also 3 sets of fireworks that evening to enjoy from our driveway. They seemed to take turns shooting them off so we had a panoramic view of them all. To top it off we had the best peach pie in all of Florida for dessert. Life is good!

Garden

After having a dud crop last year, only 3 plants, this year we have a surplus of beautiful sunflowers. Kevin built a trellis to keep them upright and we used twist ties to hold them to the trellis. The bees were busily visiting each flower.
