Sitting at my table

Jack really enjoys getting to sit at his little table. He usually does pretty good keeping himself balanced but today he was hamming it up for the camera and started to lean to one side. He is playing with his Austin Healey and an airplane, both of which have had their wheels fully inspected.

Jack Zones

Now that he is mobile, we have had to move a lot of stuff to make sure it is safe wherever he can travel. My desk shelves used to house the punch bowl set but now is a home for his drum and teddy bear. He is getting so good at standing up and cruising along the furniture. He even started using his little push walker with a little help from mommy to walk around the living room.

Cups

Jack has one cupboard and one drawer in the kitchen that we let him use. The cupboard houses all of the plastic cups we have collected over the years from Gator football games. He pulls them all out and spins them around the floor. This mess is from when Kevin stacked all the cups up while Jack was distracted in his drawer. When Jack turned around and saw the tower of cups he quickly crawled over to knock it down. Every day he visits his cupboard to pull the cups out and spin them.

Mmmm, turtle good!

This picture shows how we commonly see Jack, with something stuffed in his face so he can chew on it. EVERYTHING goes into his mouth. He keeps us on our toes, looking out for things on the floor he might want to taste test. Little bits of cat food still seem to be his favorite floor item to quickly stuff into his mouth.

New to Jack Toy!

Jack was so excited to see this little push bike this morning. Of course the wheels had to be inspected before he could ride it. He can't push himself yet, his balance is not so good, but he does enjoy being pushed around.

Dino Hut

At Christmas time we found this structure on the clearance shelf at Target. It is a huge dinosaur with tunnels. Jack likes to crawl in and out of it, especially the dino's head. It also came with tunnel attachments that can change how the structure is set up, either a long neck attached to the head or a tunnel entrance for each leg.

Cat Food

Jack is fascinated by the mat the cat food bowls sit on. He likes to touch its rough texture and play with the corners. Most of all he likes to eat the little pieces that the cats drop onto the floor! We do a lot of No-No's and redirect him away from the food but he still wants to go there. The second picture is after me telling him no. He is looking at me, trying to tell if I am serious or not.

New Skills

Jack has been very busy these days. He recently learned how to push a door closed in the bedrooms. He also loves to play with the springy door stops. I have to be close behind him or he will shut the door on me. Jack started spinning the wheels of some Hot Wheels this week. His favorite is a red Austin Healey, it must run in the family.
We think he has figured out how to use a doorknob as he looks at it when he is outside on the porch and one of the doors is closed. Thankfully he is too short to put his theories to test.
His favorite kitchen activity is spinning plastic cups on the tile floor. Sometimes they get away from him and he chases after them. Jack has also figured out how to open the cabinet doors so we will be babyproofing those doors soon, I hope.
